Who is Crimson Boudoir? Crimson is glamorous, gutsy, innovative. She writes several blogs,fiction,is an actress (under another "nomme de plume" and is always re-inventing herself. She loves the "New Burlesque" and has performed it to make a statement. 

No one is too old, to thick, too skinny to benefit from Burlesque. 

The word, "Burlesque" means to parody. To make fun of.

"The New Burlesque" empowers women. Most of Neo Burlesque is performed for a mixed crowd. There are  always at least 50 percent women in the audience. There is no nudity in burlesque, only the suggestion of it.There is a fine line between the "strip show" and " Neo Burlesque". If it is overtly sexual and geared toward men, it is probably not burlesque.

Some performers do not understand the difference.

 Burlesque helps women to accept the shape and size of their own bodies.To claim their bodies and proudly show it off while telling a 3 minute story. This art form helps to break the many stereotypes that the media imposes upon women all over the world.The  message in burlesque is clear. Women are not only beautiful and sensual, but they are also powerful."
